Message from the President

For those CAAK members coming in for the golf tournament on Thursday, June 14, or who otherwise are interested in coming to Newton the evening before the seminar, the CAAK is sponsoring a relaxed social event (casual dress) the evening of June 14 at 7:00 p.m.  The event will be held at the Kansas Sports History Museum located in the Chisholm Trail Shopping Center on the south end of Newton (I-135 Highway, Exit 28 at SE 36th Street).  Food and drink will be provided at no charge.  Spouses are welcome.  Meet old friends and make new acquaintances, and enjoy the many fascinating exhibits and artifacts from Kansas sports history.

For those needing overnight accommodations, Newton has two brand new hotels which are recommended, both of which opened in 2011:

The Holiday Inn Express at 1430 E. Broadway Ct. (1-800-315-2621) is next door to the Meridian Center, the site of the CAAK seminar.  Tell them you are with the City Attorneys Association of Kansas.

The Comfort Inn at 1205 East 1st Street (1-316-804-4866) is a quick 2 minute drive to the Meridian Center.
